Welcome

Welcome

At St John’s Church of England Academy, the governors,  staff and parents work closely together for the benefit of every child.  We are a great family and offer a warm Christian environment in which to learn together.  We are incredibly proud of our school and the children who come here to learn. St John's is a happy, successful school, where every child is cherished and supported to do their very best.

We are a one form entry school for children aged 4 -11 years. Set in spacious grounds, we provide the highest standard of education for all our pupils, in an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Our before and after Ewe Club, provided by our own dedicated staff, are offered to meet the needs of parents and families.

Our teaching and learning is designed to bring subjects to life, both in the classroom and through a variety of inspiring experiences in the wider community. Our broad curriculum and rich programme of extra-curricular activities provide a well-rounded education, supported by excellent pastoral care. Learning is made fun and as exciting as possible. We seek to capture pupils’ interests, extend their knowledge and skills and raise their aspirations.

Our school is an inclusive and welcoming place where everyone is treated with respect. We have very high expectations in terms of both learning and behaviour and the children respond with enthusiasm, politeness and consideration for others. We value parental engagement and aim to work closely with parents and carers as well as forge productive links locally, nationally and around the globe.

Our website is designed to give you a flavour of the wonderful life of the school, the work of our pupils and the high quality education we deliver. You are most welcome  to visit us and meet the amazing children of St john's, to see for yourself the academic excellence and wider achievement that lies at the heart of the school and experience the friendly, caring ethos that pervades the whole school community.

To arrange a visit please telephone the school office. (02476674092).  We look forward to meeting you and sharing more about our school.
