SEND Four Areas of Need
The 0-25 SEND Code of Practice (2015) identifies 'four broad areas of special educational need and support':
- Cognition and learning
- Communication and interaction
- Sensory and/or physical needs
- Social, emotional and mental health
The videos below help to explain the four areas of need in more detail and what we do at St John's to support children within these areas. Your child's difficulties may lie within one area or across a range of the four areas.
