Music Tuition

 

St John's has a strong tradition of offering pupils high quality music provision.

 

The school has a choir and an orchestra. The choir attends many events throughout the year and takes part in competitions. They have travelled to the O2 Arena in London to take part in Voice in a Million, which is held in aid of Adoption. In November 2012, the choir won Coventry Choir Idol organised by the Rotary Club. There is also a barbershop band & a worship band.

 

As part of the music curriculum, peripatetic teachers teach Year 3 pupils recorder and Year 4 pupils violin in whole class lessons. Pupils have the opportunity to learn musical instruments such as guitar, violin, cello, drums in small groups.
